Leicester City Women fell to the bottom of the table after the recent 1-2 home defeat to Aston Villa. Alisha Lehmann the goalscorer after 33 minutes. This season has been a struggle, with a lot of turbulence, shifting players and staff.

Getting a good team together is challenging. Recent seasons have shown some improvement. However, at the moment, it seems very difficult. Leicester are at the bottom with 9 points after 17 games. They are 3 points behind West Ham, who occupy the place above.

Alisha Lehmann made her Leicester debut in the game vs. West Ham last week. The WSL will continue this week as Leicester take on Man Utd tomorrow at home. The game vs. West Ham was crucial and a draw would have been fantastic, but as we all know it all ended in defeat.

Lehmann (27) came on as a second half sub and pushed for a goal, Leicester being 0-2 down at the time. She put pressure on West Ham defender Eva Nystrom, who put the ball in her own net. We will hopefully see Leicester’s most popular player, counting all categories, from start at home to Man Utd.

A number of changes been made in January, having seen Janice Cayman (PSV Eindhoven), Katie Keen (Sheffield United), Nelly Las (Ipswich), Simone Sherwood (Sheffield United) and Hlin Eriksdottir (Fiorentina) all have left club, either on loan or permanent. Cayman has gone permanent, the four others are out on loan.
