Ashley Chambers will for always be known for being the youngest player to have appeared in a Leicester City first team game. At the age of 15, he made his debut as a sub in a League Cup fixture v. Blackpool, but had to wait two years for his league debut which came against Cardiff City at the age 17.
At youth level he was seen as very promising and was capped for England at all youth levels up to the U.19, when his progressed stopped and never did see the climb to that very highest level of football.
His chances at Leicester City became limited, but he was seen as potential being with the club until 2011, when he was released. His chances became limited and when released he had only been involved in 9 first team fixtures during six years at the club, and he never scored a goal.
Ashley played on loan at Wycombe Wanderers, Grimsby Town and York City during his Leicester City years, and showed the quality needed to convince the latters that his talent had a life in football, though on a lower level.
Ashley moved a bit around after three years, and more than 100 first team appearances, at York City. He joined clubs suchs at Cambrdige United, Dagenham & Redbridge and also had a short return to Grimsby Town.
Ashley is still involved in football and at the moment playing in the 6th level for the English league pyramid with Kidderminster Harriers, playing up front or out wide in midfield hammering in goals now at the age of 30.
