Kasper Schmeichel’s supposed move to Manchester United is the big talk in Sunday’s papers. The fact that also Kelechi Iheanacho looks almost certain to join Aston Villa or Newcastle United is also a clickbait story.
Brendan Rodgers looks to bolster his squad with a number of new recruits and names such as Odsonne Eduard (Celtic), David Brooks (Bournemouth), James Tarkowski (Burnley) and Vedat Muriqi (Fenerbache) are just a few of those names linked.
We all know the ambition of the club and that is to cement a place in the top six of the Premier League, trying to reach a final in those domestic cup competitions and to get as far as you can in European competitions.
The fear factor of that ambition is those ten or eleven fringe players that seems to be difficult to off load and as we all know are not in a region of quality to be part of a top six group.
So we just have to wait and see how far Brendan Rodgers will got to off load players, as he also seek to secure the services of those players that he would like to keep in the squad for the future.
To get his hands on all those players on his wish list he must be successful in his work to get players out and hopefully we will see those departures coming up soon. So far Andy King and George Thomas are the only departures to count, but several others might be heading for the exit door in the rebuild of one of the most exciting Leicester City teams ever to be fielded.
