Leicester in surprising transferlink, possible returns and moves out of the club

We are just a week into the new year and rumours are flying about players coming in and going out with the latest player to get into the mill of rumours is Oleksandr Zinchenko reported to be a player on a short list of targets at Leicester City.

At the moment Luke Thomas and Christian Fuchs are the only real left footed full backs at the club, but with both Timothy Castagne and James Justin as possible covers of that position and as we could see today, being right footed at the left, could really turn out as a secret weapon, the goal of Justin proves that, so strange to see that the Ukranian would be a player recognized on a list of targets, but a link is a link, but we would be very surprised to see him as a Leicester City player.

At the other side, Filip Benkovic a short listed target for a second loan spell at Celtic, has instead joined “sister club” Leuven in Belgium, who also lateley added Andy King to their squad. They are currently flying high and could be close to a place in Europe next season.

Reports are also on Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall making a possible return to Leicester as Dennis Praet went out injured and cover is needed in that midfield area. But we just have to wait and see what happens as there are also a Papy Mendy and Hamza Choudhury who can be slotted in. Praet will probably be out for a while with something that looked like a heavy hamstring injury.

So far nothing has emerged about Demarai Gray and a possible move out. He was today left out of the squad at Stoke, and has refused to sign a new contract with the club, so it’s a difficult one, as Brendan Rodgers is doing the only correct thing not to include a player that refuses to sign a new deal and in a way says he is not considering a future at the club anymore. Everton, Southampton, Newcastle, Roma and Benfica are clubs that has been linked with Gray.

Goalkeeper Daniel Iversen has joined Preston North End and the dane will be at Deepdale to the end of the season. Iversen was on loan at Leuven during the first half of this campaign, but has left the Belgian club with only playing five first team league games.

Josh Knight has lengthened his stay with Wycombe Wanderers and will stay until the end of the season with a possible full transfer deal not happening as it might be a space in the Leicester squad next season, and Knight certainly has a potential to be worth following up and not sell just now.

Kelechi Iheanacho must be frustrated as he no longer looks as the ultimate alternative when Jamie Vardy is absent or rested, but today Ayoze Perez did that job and really delivered with a goal to his name as well. Iheanacho is still a young player and he could have a future elsewhere, but so far nothing is said about his possible departure.

Ozan Kabak is a name that circulate in media and him a possible target for Leicester and Liverpool, but we really don’t think Brendan Rodgers are out looking for a central defender at the moment and such a move would surprise.

TCF is a bit reluctant to any players coming in during the January transfer window, and all rumours today are seen as cold, but we add all the reports, so for the list of all players linked, enter here
