Christian Fuchs is starring in the MLS with Charlotte FC. He was fantastic at Leicester and a brilliant left sided defender, sadly being overlooked at times due to especially the progress of Ben Chilwell, but also later in battle with other players.
His current team Charlotte FC is a new MLS outfit and the start has been promising, winning three of their last four games and at the moment 5th in the Eastern group.
Charlotte FC is a club that has been developed over the last three years being formed in 2019 with a mission to join MLS and got their license in front of this season.
Current owner David Pepper is a billionaire and he bought American football team Carolina Panthers in 2018, also based in Charlotte. He was keen on bringing top level soccer to town and former Leicester scout Steve Walsh was hired as a special advisor.
Steve Walsh had a key role in bringing Christian Fuchs to Charlotte FC as well as Leicester and with his family based in the US it was a possible chance of bringing the former Austria captain to this establishment.
The club did well in recruiting a number of good players alongside Christian Fuchs. Polish international Karol Swiderski is a major signing coming in from PAOK in Greece and his goalscoring abilities will be vital for the club, hitting four in six games so far.
29 year old goalkeeper Kristjan Kahlina is a new recruit from Croatia. He is well travelled and was last season playing for Bulgarian club Ludogoretz Razgrad. Spanish midfielder Sergio Ruiz is another recruit with a wealth of experience as well as the tall english defender Anton Walkes.
Polish flank man Kamil Jozwiak has joined from Derby and will alongside Swiderski and Equador international Jordi Alcivar be the players to watch as they are signed as their stars outside the salary cap regulations known as DP.
Exciting to follow Christian Fuchs on his next adventure in football as well as Steve Walsh who do have a part in recruitment and we all know what that can lead to.
