After a few rumours about a change to another brand and a delay that made fans uncertain we could today see the new Adidas kit for the first time.
Jamie Vardy is the front figure in the launch and his presence is well suited. He is an experienced player and this kit fits him perfectly.
Adidas’ stripes on the shoulders appear in white, just like the sponsor logos. However, Leicester’s crest comes in a gold-blue colorway with the Adidas logo also in matching gold..
Adidas will probably combine the Leicester City FC 22-23 jersey with white shorts and blue socks.
The new home kit, the fifth to be made by Adidas, features a gold club badge and a white collar, which the club say is inspired by the shirts of the 1970s Jimmy Bloomfield team. It is the first City home kit to have a collar since the Champions League campaign of 2016-17, while it is the first shirt to have a white collar for more than a decade, since the Burrda effort of 2011-12.
It is the second year that online trading company FBS will be the club’s main shirt sponsor. Vietnamese beer brand BIA Saigon remains the sleeve sponsor.
Jamie Vardy, Wesley Fofana, and Harvey Barnes were the players selected to model the new kit at the King Power Stadium. The kit will go on sale at £63 for adults.
From our point of view a nice and good looking kit. Seen from the back mirror you will find it traditional but with a badge in gold bringing forward something new.
