Just a year ago Brendan Rodgers was among the favorites to take over from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United. At present OGS is among the hottest candidates to be approached for the Leicester job if it becomes vacant.

Brendan Rodgers is under heavy pressure and needs improved results in his next three games to avoid the sack. Few believe that being stuck to the bottom with more than £200million used on new players since his arrival will be accepted going forward.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been quiet and not been seen in media and not spoken in public since his departure at Man Utd. He is a very private man and not as everyone else. A very special person who in the bottom just loves football.

He has recently been taking up a new role as he now is coaching his youngest son Elijah at Kristiansund G14. His first game in charge ended in a win in the local county league. This hit the headlines in Norway this morning as OGS also admits that several job offers has been turned down.

His work at Man Utd has been of mixed reports as the players inherited by Ralf Ragnick and later Erik ten Hag did come under grand critisism from both. But knowing his skills as a manager you do have a grand number of successes as well.

The stats tells a bit of another story ending 3rd and 2nd in Premier League during three seasons as manager of Man Utd. Reaching the final of Europa League is also one achievement to count and as a total in another setting you would look at this as fantastic.

From his time in management at Molde he turned his former club into a league winner of Norwegian football and made history when they won their first title back in 2011. He copied this in 2012, and in 2013 came home with a Norwegian Cup title.

His first run in management in English football with Cardiff was difficult and Leicester this time could be a similar situation. But his time in Cardiff became difficult when Magnus Wolf-Eikrem, Jo Inge Berget and Mats Møller Dæhli became part of a package.

He eventually came back to Molde for a 2nd round and again brought success to the club. He did well in Europe with two draws vs. Ajax as highlights. The signing of Erling Braut Haaland from Bryne was of course another major move, pushing the career of the goal wonder on.

He has been seen as one of the top candidates for the manager job at Leicester if it becomes vacant. In football you are often seen in regards of recent results, but as time goes by getting more and more credit for the job done elsewhere.

The idea of having Michael Carrick alongside him on the bench at Leicester and possibly bringing Mike Phelan with him as well would not be the worst trio to have in control of a football club.
