Eldin Jakupovic is back in football after being released from Leicester in the summer. He has so far been searching for a new opportunity and it all became reality this week as a short term contract with Everton was in place.

Everton surely would like to fill the gap after Jordan Pickford recently picking up an injury that made the number of goalkeepers available shortened to one, with also Andy Lonrgan out.

Jakupovic is seen as a back up and a cover as he probably will be a number two or a number three choice when arriving, but still back in top flight football. Asmir Begovic is the only fit goalkeeper at present at Everton, so it will be a place on the bench for Jakupovic.

Eldin Jakupovic joined Leicester back in 2017 and played 2 PL games. His total is 4 games. A transfer fee of £2,5million did see his arrival from Hull.

He was seen as a cover for Kasper Schmeichel and later also becoming 3rd behind Danny Ward arriving in 2018 from Liverpool. To see a new cover being signed for a fee of £12,5million, made both Jakupovic and Ward pricely assets as they both were more expensive than Schmeichel.

Jakupovic will be 2nd fiddle behind Asmir Begovic at present but both Jordan Pickford and Andy Lonergan will soon be back as the Swizz international soon could see himself on the road again.
