Money will hopefully be available for Leicester in the January transfer window, with a rumour regarding Harry Maguire being spread just before the World Cup will take place.
Maguire is in the England squad for the tournament and is trusted by Gareth Southgate. His tally of caps to date is 48 and he will surely pass the 50 mark during his time in Qatar, as he has been part of the set up all the way to the finals.
To see Leicester linked with him and a possible return being set up, makes it clear that other players could be on the way out, but still we can’t believe this rumour to be nothing else than just a rumour. To sign Harry Maguire, 29 years of age, would cost the club £30million according to reports.
We have seen Youri Tielemans being mentioned as a possible Man Utd target, but believe Arsenal and Barcelona are the front runners for his signature. We believe also that Man Utd needs to pay a part of Maguire’s contract with Leicester not ready to pay the wages he is on.
Man Utd is used to these type of deals from the past. Wayne Rooney played for Everton and DC United after his move from Old Trafford, but still Man Utd made down payments on his salary long after his departure from the club. That was the only way any other club would be willing to do take him in.
Harry Maguire looks to be far from attracting any other top six club and with the current move of Wesley Fofana to Chelsea, he knows that getting game time, Leicester would be the ideal place to go.
