Luke Thomas (22) played from start in England U.21’s classy 2-0 win vs. Germany yesterday. England are through to the knock outs of the tournament, playing Portugal in the quarter finals on Sunday.

Thomas was an unused sub in the two first group games against Czech Republic and Israel, but got his chance in the last game, giving him valuable minutes and adding to his counts of U.21 caps, taking his tally to 13.

He will be in contention for places when England play Portugal.

There are several options for the left back position with Max Aarons (Norwich) and Ben Johnson (West Ham) playing in the games against Czech Republic and Israel.

Luke Thomas has been in and out of the Leicester team and had to see his options limited, but still managed to get back into the team under Dean Smith fighting in competition with Victor Kristiansen for that left back position.

His performances can be a bit of both, but with all respect, looks very good at times with clever passing, fast running and offensive skills that every full back needs to be able to get game time in Premier League. West Ham and Forest are two clubs that has been said to have an interest, but we do believe he will be staying on and could be one getting his breakthrough this season.
