Leicester looks a soft contender for Man City loan option as Arsenal exit rumour should be of great interest

England u.21 captain Taylor Harwood-Bellis is one of the finest young centre backs in the game. He has yet to make his Man City league debut, being loaned out to Blackburn, Anderlecht, Stoke and Burnley in prior seasons. His name has been mentioned as a possible Leicester target, but with two other young loan men on board, and other options to consider, Harwood-Bellis looks a soft link at this point.

With a number of different transfer scenarios still in play at Leicester, you would not be surprised if one, maybe two central defenders would leave the club in the next days. Conor Coady is believed to cement a place in the Leicester defence when he returns, but there are still rumours about Jannik Vestergaard, Wout Faes and Harry Souttar as possible late departures if other options are available.

Kieran Tierney and Rob Holding are both players rumoured to be on the move away from Arsenal with both players coming to terms with the high demands of Mikel Arteta and probably not seen as “good enough” when challenging for the major trophies. Tierney is one wanted back at Celtic, with Holding seen as a target for Aston Villa.

The key for Holding is as we could see with Conor Coady, to be first choice alternative at the club he joins and not just a cover being played when injuries strikes or other players get a dip in form. Holding has been on the fringe at Arsenal and when or if he moves on, his chances of regular first team play could be in reach if joining Leicester. A fact that Arsenal also are keen on Timothy Castagne could be one to use in possible negotiations.

Rob Holding has been critisized a lot for his play, but still been involved in first team action regularly during his seasons since joining from Bolton back in 2016 and at Championship level a man that would be one to consider. The move of Timothy Castagne going the opposite way looks a bit frozen, but a possible swop could see Holding moving to Leicester as part of a parcel.

Such a move will probably just happen if Vestergaard, Souttar or Faes moves on, but that could still be happening if the offer is acceptable. Ben Nelson, on the bench yesterday, could be considered for a loan move to League One or League Two, not really in the frame for a first team starting position at this point.
