Jannik Vestergaard has surprised everyone this season, and also today vs. Middlesbrough showing his qualities coming close to giving Leicester the lead in the 1st half, but still had to see his 2nd defeat in as many games failing against at home to Leeds and this time away at Riverside.

Both games were winners and could have gone the opposite way, the possession play is a key for Enzo Maresca as Jannik Vestergaard possess special skills in that area of the game.

To see him back in the Denmark squad is of course great, being in there together with Mads Hermansen and Victor Kristiansen as well as Kasper Schmeichel. Nice to see him getting recognized for his fine form at Leicester and his contribution to the results so far, hopefully it will continue as Leicester keep their steady plan for a return to Premier League.

Jannik Vestergaard has the ability to play on the very highest level at the top schene of the game, but his problems can also easilly be described as lack of pace can get him in difficulties, still movement and placement in a pair or a three in the back will solve that.

To have a defender with the ability to pass correctly at the number of Jannik Vestergaard is a massive advantage for a team. His height is always important in front of both goals, as he can be a massive treath as well as a clear defensive quality header of the ball.

One massive worry, at least at club level, is his habit of getting yellow cards, so far 8 in 15 league appearances, showing the one reason why s certain manager dropped him, as it could address a certain lack of concentration or lack of pace.

But to have his footwork in the team makes a clear advantage for Leicester, hopefully he will continue his progress and get back on winning ways with Leicester, and great to see him back in the Denmark squad.
