Vontae Daley-Campbell (22) represented England from u.16 to u.19 level, adding up a total of 24 caps in England representation. During that time he was a promising young prospect on the books of Arsenal.

He also showed promise during his time at Leicester, playing at first team level in cup games, ending his tally on three before making his move to Cardiff.

Hopes were high, as a loan spell with Dundee gave him experience, playing 9 league games at the highest level in Scottish football. Being a player picked for England youth teams duty by Steve Cooper, makes it strange to see him not even making the cut to the Championship squad of Cardiff, which is the current situation for the player who is said to looking for a move this January.

Vontae Daley-Campbell is surely a player with a future, and strangely not either loaned out, but it could have been a minor injury or other reasons why he has stayed at the Welsh capitol club, signing up for a contract ending in Jun 2025.

So far Daley-Campbell has just played once in the league for Cardiff, making his debut on the 15th of October last year, being sent-off and since not been registered with any more games. For Leicester development squad and during his loan spell with Dundee, the right-back was also sent off.

Since Daley-Campbell arrived at Cardiff, the club have changed management four times, being signed by Steve Morrison, he has seen him go, Mark Hudson and Sabri Lamouchi has also left with current man in charge Erol Bulut not really having any plans at all for the former Leicester defender, as the message was clear, not being named in the league squad with a message clear from Erol Bulut; “For the benefit of his career, it would be better if he left”, but Daley-Campbell has remained in South Wales, Bulut said further; “We tried to give him a loan or permanent signing, but from his side and his agent’s side, nothing is coming. I don’t know what they think. For me it’s not good for him to stay here and to sit and let the days pass. He is a young player and he has to play football. In his interest, he has to leave to play football, he cannot just sit here for the next year, otherwise his career will be finished”. “He is not playing, he is sitting only to earn the money. I don’t know what he’s thinking. I gave him good advice, telling him to go and play football, not just to sit and watch.”

Hopefully Vontae Daley-Campbell will find some sort of solution to his problems as money counts and probably not easy to get the same terms elsewhere with just one league games in the last year or so to count.
