Leicester City; Caleb Okoli

Caleb Okoli joined Leicester from Atalanta in the summer of 2024. The fee paid for his services was €14M. Okoli is under contract until June 2029. He had played 17 league games for Atalanta before his arrival at Leicester. Earlier been at Vicenza and had loan spells with SPAL, Cremonese and Frosinone.

A gifted central defender currently part of the Italian team squad, but yet to receive his full international debut. To date played 14 league games for Leicester and in a way found himself in a rotation and competition with Wout Faes, Conor Coady and Jannik Vestergaard, not yet cemented a place in the first team.

Okoli made his league debut for Leicester on 1 September 2024 in a 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa. He was rumoured to be tracked by several Serie A clubs in January 2025, but a move never happened.

Born in Italy to parents of Nigerian origin, Okoli is Igbo and Yoruba by descent. He was first called up to represent Italy in 2019 with the Italy U19 side. He made his debut with the Italy U21 team on 7 September 2021, playing as a starter in the qualifying match won 1–0 against Montenegro. He was called up to the senior Italy squad for 2024–25 UEFA Nations League matches against France and Israel on 6 and 9 September 2024, respectively.
