Sarpsborg had a brilliant start to their Norwegian season, winning their opener 2-0 away to Molde. A player showing fantastic promise was goalkeeper Mamour Ndiaye. The Senegal U.20 international was masterclass and kept a clean sheet. He is still only 19.
Another player in the Sarpsborg team to catch the eye was attacking flank man Sondre Ørjasæther. The Norway U.21 international is a very impressing player and we have allready mentioned him in a previous story.
Sarpsborg used to have Brian Deane and Ian Birchnall in charge a few years back. Deane a previous player at Leicester, Birchnall a well known coach in Norwegian football, born in Leicester. This club with a limited budget, have managed to stay up in the top flight over a number of years. Leicester scouts should be looking in this environment for players. Norwegian football is getting more and more professional.
Luton midfielder Thelo Aasgaard is also one to watch. He recently made his full international debut for Norway, scoring a goal in the 5-0 away win to Moldova. Aasgaard (22) moved from Wigan to Luton in the January transfer window. A climber who have played 140 league games for The Latics, scoring 23 goals.
A dream start 💫

Fredrikstad goalkeeper Jonathan Fischer is said to be the best goalkeeper in the league. The young Dane is seen as exceptional, being rated “very special” at this level.
Bodo Glimt forward Kasper Høgh made his mark from start. The tall forward scored the winner for Bodo Glimt in their 1-0 win vs. Bryne. Hogh scored 12 goals in 23 league games last season. Høgh is a hidden diamond and a special player. We believe the 24 year old has great potential. He could play in a much better league within a year or two.
Previous Haugesund goalkeeper, Norwegian international, Egil Selvik made a move to Udinese late last year. He was then shipped over to their sister club Watford. He is at this point doing a good job for the Championship club.
