We have earlier talked about Nathan Opoku and his potential chance to make impact at Leicester. He has been out of action with a long term injury. He was back in action this April for the development team. He made his first appearance in the 0-0 away draw to West Bromwich. Also involved in the last game of the season, playing Forest, defeat, 0-2.

In both games Opoku played alongside another player with a potential, Amani Richards. There are a number of talented players in the development squad. To reach a first team level, you must first and foremost avoid serious injuries. Nathan Opoku is still in rehabilitation. Opoku and Richards could both do a fringe job next season. They might be important in the regrouping of the first team squad.

He had good progress during his stay at OH Leuven, playing 20 top flight league games, scoring 2 goals. 9 of his games from start. This April he returned to action after almost a year out. We certainly hope Ruud van Nistelrooy or whoever is in charge during pre-season will closely evaluate the situation. They should thoroughly consider their options before again splashing cash on a forward you regard as fringe.

Amani Richards has been talked up as one future first team performer for Leicester. He has represented England at U.16 youth level. Injuries have made his stay at Leicester difficult. He is still only 20 years of age. He should be seen as a potential. His contract runs to June 2027.

Richards joined League One club Exeter City on loan during this season. He was on the field in 6 league games and scored once. Injuries became an issue, that made the loan stay cut short. Richards is a player with a certan potential and hopefully the club will give him a chance to shine. His pace is of course a special attribute. He can also score from the flank and should be in reach of the squad.

Silko Thomas is also a name to recognize. He has not yet played a part in the Leicester first team. However, he was involved in 24 League One games for Wigan. He returned to Leicester in February after suffering an injury.

Recently Jake Evans and Jeremy Monga has been introduced to first team action. Tom Cartwright and Olabade Aluko are players from the development team. They have also been part of first team squads during the season.
