There are no real hope of a survival. Time to look at what the summer can bring in and out of the football club. Leicester have over the years been a yo-yo club up and down between the two top tiers.
Looking back we have seen a number of different patterns. From a long list of changes to modest and minor moves to just build a team. Leicester have often managed to get straight back up, but also drifted into wilderness.
Two years ago was the last time this happened. James Maddison, Timothy Castagne, and Harvey Barnes became the major sales out. This had great impact as the total transfer fee received for the three was in total close to £100million. There were also a lot of other players that left, being released. 22 players, including development youth men, left the club during that summer with just 6 players added.
This is a scenario we believe could be much the same after this season. We have earlier written about how Leicester must build a youth development strategy. They need to focus more on their own academy. This is very vital in creating a modern and solid foundation. Such a foundation will be needed to regularly compete at the highest level. Leicester youth teams are in the top tier of English top talent development, but not among the very best. They need to bring on younger players at an earlier stage. This will help build trust among their best talents. It will encourage them to stay instead of jumping on tempting offers from other more popular clubs.
So who will be leaving the club this summer? Wout Faes, Hamza Choudhury, Kasey McAteer, Mads Hermansen, Caleb Okoli, Bilal El Khannouss, Wilfred Ndidi and James Justin are all selling objects. Hopefully two not more than three will leave. Leicester will not cash in as much as they did the last time. However, hopefully enough cash will come in to build a squad capable of a fight for promotion.

The club has a lot of talent in the youth ranks. Hope the best players will stay on and build a first team career at the club. This will help the club long term as reputation and potential fills a purpose. Eventually, they can move on when the time is correct for both club and player.
This will be another very interesting summer to see a new shape and form on the squad. Hopefully, it will be one that can compete for a promotion. It should also be able to again bring Leicester back up to the best level.
