In our update, Where Are They Now, we believe we have a good and complete list on former Leicester players still active in the game. Today we have looked up some of them. We wanted to see what they are up to. Some are in more or less hidden places.
There are a lot of players with a previous past at Leicester still playing on at the top, in the middle or down in lower tiers.
Some are gone abroad others are playing in domestic leagues. You find former Leicester men in Scotland, Wales, N Ireland and Ireland. We have looked up a few, some of them at top levels, others more or less forgotten men.
Cian Bolger left Leicester to join Bolton. He had no league game experience at the time. However, he is still active. He plays for Larne in the N Ireland top flight. Since his move from Leicester in 2013, he has represented a number of clubs. He played at Northampton, Southend, Fleetwood, and Lincoln, before joining Larne back in 2021. He is double league winner with Larne, winning the title in 2022/23 and 2023/24. At the age of 33, he looks to have a number of more seasons in him.
Tom Hopper has recently made a move from Colchester to Southend. The former Leicester attacker is now 31 years old. He has played for several clubs in the EFL. This will be his second play at Roots Hall, being with The Shrimps earlier from

Demarai Gray is reported back at Birmingham on a free transfer. He has moved “home” from Saudi club Al- Ettifaq. This will be a good addition for Birmingham who is newly promoted from League One. Gray has previosly played for Everton and Bayer Leverkusen. He was close to an England cap while on the books at Leicester, but never got of the bench. He has later moved on to represent Jamaica.
David Stockdale had a brief loan spell at Leicester during that 2008/09 League One season. He played 8 league games. His life in football is one special. He is currently the manager and owner of Farsley Celtic. He left league football in 2023, playing his last games in the EFL for Sheffield Wednesday. In total adding up more than 450 league games during his career in the four top tiers.
A player that currently are waiting for a new offer is Michael Keane. The former England international with a previous life at Leicester. He came on loan from Man Utd. Since been a vital player for both Burnley and Everton in Premier League. Keane looks to lengthen his stay at Everton, being in contract talks to continue at the club.
Fousseni Diabaté is out of contract, but he looks to attract interest from different clubs. Celtic has been mentioned as a new destination for the player that made 15 Premier League appearances for Leicester. He has impressed in play for Lousanne-Sport.
Kelechi Iheanacho had a difficult time returning to English football on loan at Middlesbrough. Iheanacho joined Sevilla last summer. However, he has not been able to convince anyone at his current club about a potential future. He played 15 league games of Boro last season, only 1 goal scored. Only 9 league appearances for Sevilla, before moving on loan.
Plymouth Argyle have send Callum Wright on loan to Wigan Athletic. Both clubs are currently in League One, so a bit of a surprise to see this happening. Wright has so far played 76 league games for The Pilgrim, coming in from Blackpool two years ago.
Former Leicester defender and young player of the year, Shane Flynn is without a club since leaving Ballymena this summer. He has not settled since leaving Leicester last summer. The former Ireland U21 international has also represented Waterford.
