We think Leicester’s search for a manager is close to be finalised. Russell Martin is keen to build a successful team for his next management role.
Matt Gill, currently at West Brom, will hopefully be an important part of that management team. Gill is in demand and has been loyal to Russell Martin. It is crucial for Martin to bring in his preferred partner and assistant.
In an interview with Norwich based outlet Pink Un, Gill said the following on the 9th of June, “Obviously, my loyalties are with Russ. “But he understands that perhaps if he has a little bit more time off… it’s been good to have some different conversations with different people this summer, and hopefully, once I get back from the World Cup, I’ll be going into a club for pre-season.”
We have seen this Leicester manager appointment of Russell Martin being out in media for the last two weeks, and at this time said to be a settled affair among different serious sources. But as long as nothing is confirmed and settled, we do not have the final answer to this saga.
Leicester City are trying to add Matt Gill as Russell Martin’s assistant manager if the 40 year old is appointed head coach

This appointment will in many ways be controversial, since Russell Martin, has a past, being sacked at Southampton and Rangers, and not being able to build on his football formula as a way of winning games in football.
We will just wait and see when this is final, but as it looks at the minute, we believe that the process is in good hands and hopefully Russell Martin can come in at a time when it looks enough hours left to prepare to get things in shape for the season start.
We hope for the best outcome possible for Leicester, as Russell Martin thicks a lot of the boxes of the type of manager this club needs to get every aspect of the project running in a positive direction.
Again hopefully we have answers and confirmation early next week as talks progress for all details to be taken care off and completed.
