Having met Alan Birchenall and Robbie Savage several times in the past. Both made strong impressions, being who they are, massive footballers, playing for Leicester, giving us all fantastic memories.
They both were great to us, being polite and showed respect for people of their own fanbase. The two had a love-hate relationship at Leicester. In football, surprises happen, and yesterday “Birch” and “Sav” met up in another special setting. They have previously met at King Power, but not under these circumstances, with Robbie Savage managing the opposite team.
Yesterday was surprising, with Robbie Savage’s Peterborough defeating Leicester 3-1. Wishing him well, but in all honesty, from a Leicester point of view, a nightmare to watch.
This Sunday morning, listening to a couple of Leicester fan channel morning shows, another massive and special talk was found, seeing Robbie Savage being interviewed brilliantly at this UpthePosh podcast. Sensational to see a new manager of a football club at this level going live on a fan channel.
The UpthePosh podcast presenters showed great professionality. The hosts used balanced language and tuned this perfectly. This is in contrast to some Leicester fan shows, which often lack respect for players, staff, and management. You need to be taken seriously, if you are able to get this type of unique and special content.
The questions put forward to Robbie Savage were brilliant and made him talk freely and giving his honest views on the different aspects. The two presenters were good in how they balanced their questions, but still able to get brilliant answers from Robbie.
Robbie Savage talks about the challenge, how he see players and shows how much research he has done, and having so much quality answers as such an early stage of his management job at Peterborough. He walked into management at a very low level, a few years ago, and he is on a new journey, climbing the league tiers, as he did as a player. Being released from Man Utd at a young age, being one of the less known players in the class of 92, moving to Crewe Alexandria, and from there to Leicester.
He is also a very knowledgable football man, in love with the game and his interest for football is almost fanatic, understanding that his passion, his approach and style of play, will drive him forward. Watching and listening to this show is fantastic, never seen it before, and had to check twice, to see if this was some sort of an official channel, but it was not. This is the best fan show I have ever seen, just brilliant.

After meeting Robbie Savage a few times in the past, he was back then, when playing for Leicester, free speaking and always having a smile on his face, and laughed a lot. Thinking, is this real. Yes it was.
Robbie Savage is a media person and he knows how to communicate, listening to him, this became unique and special. He has knowledge and in depth understanding, of every aspect he speaks about. He has also a clear vision and view on what he wants.
There are a few channels covering Leicester that could have brought Russell Martin on, but they might not have a desire to do that, potentially getting in a rough argument with him.
Peterborough are below Leicester in the table at this moment. They are in more problems, but after yesterday, they got a brilliant league start under Robbie Savage.
A brilliant interview with Robbie, seeing this now, a day after he smashed Leicester so hard that it was like watching him playing at Filbert Street, having his heart on the inside and outside of his Leicester shirt.
