Robbie Savage used to play for Leicester. He was signed from Crewe, after being released by Man Utd. The Class of 92 is much spoken about. You seldom hear the name Robbie Savage as one of them, but he was.

Released by Sir Alex Ferguson, picked up on a free by Dario Gradi at Crewe. Martin O’Neill decided to give Robbie Savage a chance to play in Premier League. He grabbed it with both hands, established himself very quickly in the first team and never looked back.

He had allready made his full international debut for Wales, being born in Wrexham. He is not part of their current fairystory, but possibly building one for himself.

He never got anything for free. He is one of those players who earned everything through hard work. As stats never lie, he was there. He played in those teams winning trophies and promotions and battling with the best.

Robbie Savage was appointed manager of Forest Green Rovers in front of this season. He was previously in charge of Macclesfield. He had a special relation to this team, being their manager and director of football in different parts and periods. Last season was an incredible one for Macclesfield, the results achieved was fantastic and to take carefully notice off. He got the taste of it, wanted more, and landed a job a bit higher in the league system. Now, he is strangely competing against his former boss, Mark Hughes, who is in charge of Carlisle. Football is a funny game. Robbie Savage is a bit unique. He will do this in his own tempo and special style.

He is a battler with an attitude. He was at Leicester when they were top of the Premier League. The team was playing in Europe and winning trophies. We will see how his career in management will turn out. He claims to be the old type of manager. He says he does not really take training sessions. However, he still follows everything with a close eye.

Robbie Savage does have a clever eye for details and specials. He knows this game in and out. He has learned from the masters in football. With his journey as a player, he has been in all divisions and areas. He has experienced the success but also had a bit of negativity. He is a climber and battler. He has also had a long run in sports media. Having met him in person a few time, he was always nice and took his time. One who showed willingness to fight, even when the opponent looked a giant.

Following his steps in management is interesting. Despite a 3-4 defeat in the FA Cup to Luton yesterday, this season has started promising. His team, Forest Green Rovers, shows great potential.
