The Shocking Truth Regarding Leicester Squad And A Potentially Hot and Busy January Transfer Window

A few weeks left before we enter the January transfer window. The shocking truth for Marti Cifuentes is that his squad is not balanced out the way it should be to fit his style of football. To see his sytem effective and well driven, the structure needs a slight change.

Wout Faes and Bouba Soumare are two players potentially leaving in January. Both have been in and out of the Leicester team this season. Lately the have been dropped from the starting line-up. Faes can attract a fee of around £10million, Soumare possibly £4million.

The squad is full of players who have been signed by other managers. The fact that most of those former men in charge based their football on the same structure as Cifuentes is a plus, but there are gaps left behind from players that are moved. The fact that injuries have occured has also made it difficult.

The club has over the last few seasons based their build-up on 4-3-3. This is also the system used in the U21 and U18 teams. Leicester do play with a double pivot and in that situation you need a box to box midfielder who can do the deep runs, tackle and pass the ball. Jordan James fits that file perfectly. At the moment no other Leicester player have that mindset and ability to play in that special number 8 role.

The fact many players are out of contract in the summer, is of course a huge dilemma. Another group of players are desperate to find a club that offers them more playing time. Harry Souttar, Hamza Choudhury, Harry Winks, Victor Kristiansen and Jordan Ayew are names to be sorted.

A while yet until January, but Leicester City and Southampton are both reported to have eyes on Sunderland goalkeeper Anthony Patterson.

There are players linked with Leicester. Loan moves are said to be a possible option. Jacub Stolarczyk is struggling with different issues at the moment. The other two goalkeepers appear to be nothing more than cover. This situation could see Sunderland second choice Anthony Patterson being approached.

Jacub Stolarczyk, Jordan James, Jannik Vestergaard and Abdul Fatawu are the four players we feel are certain in the line-up. The rest has more or less been a random pick.

We believe Marti Cifuentes will look for two additions to his squad if given backing. However, five or six could be on the way out in January.

We believe the transition of players will be major in the next two transfer windows.
