Why Leicester Fans Must Defend Their Badge Amid Points Deduction

We have seen a downfall we would probably not have imagined a few years back. Today the lowest point ever for me, as the club for the first time have seen a points deduction, because they are believed to have breached the laws of two different football leagues.

This is something that feels very unfair as it do hit teams who are relegated unfairly. You do receive a parachut payment, but still to get points deducted more or less because you are relegated makes this a totally strange and utterly disgusting system to live in.

So how should you react as a fan towards this. You should of course defend the badge. It’s like going to war to protect your country. You will soon find out as fast as lightening who the deserters and cowards are. Leicester are in no way got a proper treatment by EFL or PL. Those who just believe taking the deduction and ran, should just stop, think and think again, for god sake, never stop defending and fight for the badge.

Leicester as a club might have stretched themselves to a limit few others would have done, but in the long run, to avoid relegation, was the main goal. The gap in money between EFL and PL is so heavy you cannot imagine. Then to be hit by a problematic situation when you have left the party, looks unfair and very strange.

To see certain fans in this fan group give a damn about the club being where they are and just throw everyone under the buss, being negative and trying to find one to blame, they point fingers, instead of supporting.

I find it disgusting to see fans talking down everyone who runs the club at this moment in time. Think again, think about why you support Leicester and why you really feel at home wearing clothes with the Leicester badge on. Again when starting throwing words, cheese and whatever around, think about why you support this football club and how it started, how you fell in love with this fantastic club.

A few weeks back I was in Wales watching football. Chester and Wrexham were the destinations. Deva Stadium and Racecourse Ground got my visits. Lovely to be there, having a great time, and at the same time, understanding how their fans lived with life in different league’s, but still being proud of their clubs badge.

Owners in football will come and go, players will do so too. Why you support this football club, is so much deeper, but why is not easy to say, it’s a bit of a riddle, why you can be so attached to a football team.

It’s on your mind every day, you think about it all the time. This has to do with much more than just football. It’s identity, unity and friendship. Then just turn negative, don’t. You can have your say and be critical, but believe in the badge, that it will turn and it will in some way.

Cologne is a club with a special fanbase. They have been a bit in the elevator over the years, such as Leicester. Some fantastic players have played here. Wolfgang Overath, Pierre Littbarski and Lukas Podolski are three grand players with legendary past here. This club has a special following and of course they can be angry and also out of control, but their love for their badge is always strong.

You are either in or out as a football fan. And you have to look above who is the manager, who is the owner, who is the captain, who is playing, always believe in the badge.

To be loyal comes with a price. The rot must stop now. If this continious any longer, and if we, from next season, can’t see change of fortunes, the owner must be result minded. Points for the males first team will be the judgement. A sale or two can also bring in cash to do recriutment.

A major concern is the massive fixed cost this club have. They have build a foundation too large for the club itself to carry being a struggler in The Championship.

The problem for an owner is to decide what he will do with his son, as he described the club, and make the correct action. As a fan you can say what you like with no obligation, everytime the club lose a football game, to sell it. You need to decide long term.

Still have faith in Top and his staff, but a further slide, no action regarding a new manager appointment and more problems, would see another approach regarding the defence of this very special club badge.

For now and out the season, support with your heart. Be a proper Leicester fan, where the badge, walk the walk, it’s all beyond owners, fans, players, everything.
