Nigel Pearson build a momentum at Leicester more than a decade ago. Since then a number of manager changes have been seen. The sacking of Claudio Ranieri also guided Leicester in a direction of uncertainty. They found ground again with Brendan Rodgers. However, his ego and low commitment stopped Leicester from growing.
Let’s address the current situation directly. We observe that certain managers satisfy their own ego. This approach will turn out wrong in the long term.
Certain fans believe players on the highest salary and among the best in the building should be punished hard. They should just play other players if they can not behave or have other ideas.
Footballers need to play consistently to be able to peak their performance. It is unreasonable to think that players who have been bench warmers in the past can immediately perform. Delivering in matches requires regular game time. You also need 90 minutes of games, week in and week out to get to the level needed to perform.
Marti Cifuentes and Andy King have not managed to bring that to the table this season. So far, it also looks as if Gary Rowett is ignoring it as well. Leicester do have some of the best players in the league. However, the pattern and set up is not ideal at the moment.
Bouba Soumare and Wout Faes are two players who left in January. If you look at them, you know that their quality is far above Championship level. The issue is that past managers had no idea how to manage their talent. They did not know how to play them correctly.
Leicester are also in danger of spoiling the talent of Jeremy Monga. He was introduced to the first team. Since then, he has not managed to keep his place. Seeing him replaced in the game vs. Boro’ with Bobby De Cordova-Reid is close to disaster. If you can not see his potential you should just forget watching football and do something else. He is still very young. However, his introduction to the first team is nothing like the introductions of Harvey Barnes, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and Ben Chilwell.
This player should have a special programme. It should protect him and give him positives all the time. Why this has not happened is a riddle. He has not managed to keep a regular place in the first team. This is because he has been used without a strategy to get this player to peak to his best potential.
This madness looks to continue under Gary Rowett. He has started Jeremy Monga, left him out and just let him sit on the bench against Middlesbrough. He is the best player at Leicester, together with Harry Winks. Good to see Gary Rowett still using Winks as his skills are very much needed in this Leicester side.
Wout Faes is Rouge et Blanc! 🇧🇪❤🤍

AS Monaco is delighted to announce the arrival of Wout Faes. The 27-year-old Belgian international center-back is on loan from Leicester City Football Club until the end of the season, with an option to buy.

We certainly hope Gary Rowett will find a winning formula soon, or else, Leicester will get a problem to survive in this league. Have high hopes for the former Leicester defender as well having Callum Davidsion around.
They have in a way failed allready by not having a plan for Jeremy Monga. Would have played him every single game, all season long, to make him robust. The use of this player has been a farce so far at this football club.
The same with Patson Daka. No player in the team understands how to get this player on the run. Those who saw him score against Southampton might have a clue. They could understand how this player would shine at this football club. Without service, he can’t do what he is best at.
This is all strategy and way of play. You are far from perfect if you decide to have a different tactical approach. Additionally, not using the players to their best strengths highlights this imperfection.
If you try to make a cream cake, you don’t use salt and pepper. Instead, you put in the ingredients needed to make the cake you are supposed to.
It is just hurting to see Caleb Okoli trying to make short silky passes on the floor. This happens when you have Patson Daka up-front. He should have just kicked that ball as far as he could. That would have gotten Patson on the chase. Instead, he lost it, and everything went into the toilet.
Leicester need to be more direct when attacking and be more aggressive. Too many times players are also passing the ball backwards when they can move forward and instead hurt the opponent. It looks far from a planned set up and we need this to work instantly.
Leicester still have a team that should be fighting for straight promotion. They should not be in a battle of survival, even with a 6 points deduction.
We certainly hope Gary Rowett can find the right buttons to push. It’s crucial to get this up and running. One pointers are not enough to reach the line of survival.
