Ex Leicester Men in Management and Coaching, Extreme Journeys and Current Roles

Looking at former Leicester players and managers out there, you will bump into a number of them at all different levels of football. Gary Rowett as manager and Callum Davidson as his assistant are back at Leicester trying to bring something to the table. They are yet to to see a win after three games in charge. Gary Rowett had a spell in charge of Oxford before taking up his interim role with Leicester.

Robbie Savage took over at Forest Green Rovers in the summer. He left Macclesfield after leading them to promotion, having a fantastic season, giving the former Leicester midfielder a chance to climb to a higher level. Forest Green Rovers are currently in a play-off position as the former EFL club are eager to get back to that form of life.

Nolberto Solana last summer took over as national coach of Pakistan. He has previously been in charge of Blyth Spartans, but left that club after a few months in charge back in 2024. Richie Wellens and Brian Barry-Murphy are both fighting for points in League One. Wellens with Orient and Barry-Murphy at Cardiff.

Steve Cooper is back in the game with Danish club Brondby, Mixed bag of results but still in the running for European qualification and a good final position in the top flight. Ruud van Nistlerooy is back in the game as well, being the assistant coach of Holland under Ronald Koeman.

Martin O’Neill took interim charge of Celtic earlier in the season. He was called back after the appointment of Wilfried Nancy never worked. O’Neill is on a contract running out the season. Celtic are chasers in the league and still a chance to win a trophy both in the cup and league.

Roberto Mancini has since leaving the Saudi Arabia national team taken over at Qatar club Al Sadd. He joined in November on a two year contract. Brendan Rodgers left Celtic earlier in the season. He has since been appointed manager at Saudi club Al Qadsiah. He turned up in a extreme version of himself a few weeks ago that got a lot of media mentioning.

Simon Grayson has frequently been seen in the Foxes Hub studio this season. His last stint in management was with Hartlepool United. After a bad run of results, he was dismissed in October, taking on the duties for the 2025/26 season.

Dean Smith is leading Charlotte FC since December 2023. He is a running contract until 2027. Christian Fuchs is in his first EFL management with Newport. He took over in November 2025. Nils Erik Johansson is the assistant manager at Swedish club Täby FK.

Conrad Logan is the current head coach at Anstey Nomads. Former Leicester players Martyn Waghorn and David Nugent is part of his squad. Chris Davies is in charge of Birmingham, having Ben Petty as his assistant manager.

Rob Kelly is the assistant manager at Reading. Being here since November last year. Alan Sheehan left Swansea in November 2025. He was appointed manager at the club in April 2025, after having an interim period in charge. Neil Lennon is in charge of Dunfirmline Athletic. He took over The Pars in March 2025. Since then, he has signed a two-year deal with the Scottish Championship club.

Andy King has stepped down from his manager interim role at Leicester to assist current manager Gary Rowett. Adam Sadler is also among the people in the staff. Enzo Maresca is waiting for his next appointment, leaving Chelsea on the 1st of January. He won two major trophies in his time at the club. The 2025 Club World Cup and 2024-25 Europa Conference League.

Robbie Neilson left Tampa Bay Rowdies in April 2025. He has since joined Belgian club Lommel SK as assistant head coach. Neilson managed Hearts, Dundee U, and MK Dons before he took over at Tampa in 2023.

Aleksandar Tunchev is the current head coach of Bulgarian club Arda Kardzhali. He is earlier been the manager of Lokomotiv Plovdiv. Bruno Berner left Grasshoppers in 2024. He has since been the assistant at Australian club Macarthur.

Chris Powell is the current assistant manager at Luton Town. He has been in a number of different manager positions in the past. Being in charge at Charlton, Huddersfield and Southend. Not a pleasant ride for Paul Gallagher taking his first job in management with Barrow. He took charge on the 1st of January, but lasted just a few weeks, after have signed a 18 month contract. Sad to see a difficult start should just end as bad.

Alex Bruce is the assistant manager at Salford. Jay Spearing is the current head coach of Liverpool U.21. He has also appeared in the team on occasions. Ian Holloway is the current manager of Swindon Town. He was appointed at County Ground on the 25th of October 2024. He is on a running contract until 2028. Arnar Gunnlaugsson is the current national coach of Iceland. He was appointed a year ago and has since managed 3 wins in 11 games.

Patrick Kisnorbo has been in trade of coaching, last being in charge of Japanese club Yokohama Marinos. He has earlier coached Melbourne Victory and Troyes. Alan Maybury is manager of Scottish club Stirling Albion. Paddy McCarthy is part of the successful management team at Crystal Palace, assisting Olivier Glasner. He has previously been interim charge of The Eagles.

Gokhan Inler also have a life in football after playing retirment. He is with Udinese as a Technical Director. David Martin is goalkeeper coach at Ipswich Town. Jelle ten Rouwelaar is the current goalkeeper coach at Brighton.
