Jordan Ayew is not alone. Many famous star players have joined Leicester, often performed far below their earlier standard at other clubs. Jordan Ayew’s contract is up at the end of the season. His time at Leicester will not be remembered as the best part of his career.

At the age of 34 he looks far past his best. Since arriving at Leicester he has scored 10 goals in 55 league games. To wear the number 9 shirt and score 5 goals in this season, is not enough. This season he has also looked out of form. He does not have the ability to play in the top forward position.

Jamie Vardy has been the ultimate number 9 for the club over the past decade and his convertion was fantastic. To give this number 9 shirt to Jordan Ayew looks almost as you cannot understand. Please rest this shirt before you find a proper man to weare it. A shirt is just a shirt, but for fans of football’ it’s not.

We have listed all of these under achievers in our “Guys in Disguise” list. They all came to Leicester either before or after their best years in the game.

Jordan Ayew is a living legend. 117 full caps for Ghana at this point, scored 33 goals. He has earlier played in Premier League for a decade with Aston Villa, Swansea and Crystal Palace. He is the son of the famous Marseille forward Abide Pele. His brother Andre Ayew, was also a player of great professional standard.

Jordan Ayew is not a top forward. In all excuse for Jordan Ayew, he has never been used in his best position. However, his performances at Leicester are far below what was expected. He had a different level in the past and his legs looks tired.

There are numerous examples of misuse of players at Leicester. These instances are far too many to count. They are underperforming for a number of different reasons. The decision to sign Jordan Ayew in the first place was a strange one.

He has not been used to his best. He does not appear to be a player suited for this environment and setup. But still he is the captain of his national team and perform well whenver called on by Ghana.
