On Saturday, fractions of the Leicester fanbase made another protest against the club. However, it looks totally silly from our point of view. This behavior is childish. It is far from what the club desires in their communication with supporters. The club seeks a constructive environment with their fans. Support or stay away, that is the only proper way to be a football fan.
The club knows the picture and of course concerned. Playing football games and not winning is never ideal. They are putting all their efforts into change this. For fans it’s simple. If you have no joy, stay away. Go silent. Do not drag the club you support into the mud with a negative attitude. Players, staff, ownership, and devoted supporters of this football club will always view this negatively.
Leicester as a club have over the last five years done a lot of wrong. But again based on a total picture, It is not correct to blame Top and Jon Rudkin for this alone. To have answers when you know the score is always easy. Today, a number of new staff management announcements have been officially confirmed. It is preferable to celebrate, not to start a new moan.
When you as a fan decide enough is enough, you gather for a protest? This reflects a selfish and very narrow view of the situation. You miss many aspects that should be considered in the total picture. The mens first team are not performing as they are supposed to. They should be dominating this division. That is a clear fact, but surely not a reason for making a walking protest. What do you recommend? A ghost ownership takeover, and no answers. Who would you like to bring forward to sort out the mess? Don’t go in a protest when you have no solution, no answer or can’t solve the problem yourself.
Instead we are looking at what is happening at the minute. To see a new CEO being appointed is fantastic. Finance director Kevin Davies has taken a step up and will take on this very important CEO role. Davies joined the club in 2023. Since then, he has helped the club to solve the PSR challenges. Having someone at the top of administration with a financial focus is crucial. Hopefully, this will bring a certain balance back.
Nice to see James McCarron soon to arrive. This appointnment of the new Leicester SD has been known for a while. He will be joining next month. Russell Jones has joined the club as the new CD. He has earlier worked in a similar position at Wolves.

These are great appointments to see. Hopefully, they will bring the club back in balance with a view on the financial side. This goes beyond being a club driven by sporting emotions. It lacks sustainable decision making from a former warehouse supervisor. Giving a first team manager too much power is a concern. It is important to think beyond his next appointment elsewhere. This is something to address and a major learning curve for the owner at this football club.
Top and Jon Rudkin will still have a major say in decision making. In a rare statement made by Jon Rudkin, he said the following; “Restoring Leicester City to the level we all believe it should represent is a club-wide priority. We are clear about the standards required and the work that lies ahead to reach them. “Re-establishing ourselves as a sustainable and consistently competitive Premier League club will not be achieved overnight. It requires a long-term vision built on careful planning, discipline and consistency, while retaining the agility to respond to the immediate demands of an intensely competitive environment. “We approach that challenge with clarity, unity and determination, and we are fully committed to building a club that our supporters can be proud of, both now and in the years ahead.”
Looking into this from outside, the situation at the moment is chaotic and out of full control. The squad balance is far from perfect and a lot of different matters to solve with not clearity at the moment. Many players are on outgoing contracts. The team is not built on the solid foundations needed to create a winning culture.
We are backing these new appointments. We still have faith in Gary Rowett and Callum Davidson to sort out the mess on the field. The two former Leicester players are experienced in this trade. They should be capable of getting a positive outcome. Hopefully, fans will understand that this ship can be turned. Top and Jon Rudkin are here to stay, rather than the opposite.
