Leicester Extends Contracts for Young Talent as Midfielder Can Make Permanent Move

Bilal El Khannouss looks to be on his way out on a permanent deal to Stuttgart. The German club will trigger a buy out clause. They are very happy to get the signature for the Morocco international.

Fans at Leicester will of course be disappointed to see him leave. However, he was an unhappy soul desperately seeking a top tier challenge somewhere. It will be the best solution for both parties.

Stuttgart will pay the asking price of £15million. There is also a sell-on clause in the deal. Additionally, a bonus will be paid to Leicester whenever Bilal reaches a certain count of games.

Leicester has signed up Nathan Opuku and Kevon Gray on extended deals. These deals will last through the 2026/27 season. Opoku has spend time on loan at Newport this season and has previously been loaned out to OH Leuven to gain first team experience. At the age of 24 he has not made his senior debut at Leicester.

Kevon Gray has this season frequently been seen on the bench for the first team, but not yet made his full debut. The defender is a steady performer in the U21 set up and one player to watch as he progress.

Kevon Gray was last in action for the U21 in their 2-1 home win vs. Norwich on the 9th of February. He has made 12 appearances in the U21 team this season. Nathan Opoku has been in and out of the Newport team, having long term issues with several injuries and also this season struggled to get the continuity needed to perform steady up front. So far he has played 23 league games for Newport, scoring 5 goals.

Opoku will potentially attract attention from other clubs. League One and League Two clubs could be willing to a pay a fee and then good get something back. Having him on contract will trigger a fee to be paid. This is better than moving on a free transfer.
