Gary Rowett continued his chop and change. Bobby De Cordova-Reid losing his place in the side, giving a starting position to Divine Mukasa. He also decided to leave out Ricardo Pereira, Harry Winks and Patson Daka, which was very strange.
Despite these changes he looked to have found a good balance from start. Leicester controlled the game. They showed focus and determination. This early on performance gave hope to catch a good result this evening.
This became clear and evident after 14 minutes. Jordan James pushed forward and took a well-placed shot. He found the goal with a perfect curl. Leicester were 1-0 up. Nothing really changed in the next minutes and defensively it looked composed and in good shape.
We believed Leicester would be in the lead going into half time. However, out of nothing, shambles happened again. Ben Nelson made a new fatal misjudgement on his positioning. He had also been given an early yellow card. He has no future in this position if Leicester are to survive this season. He makes errors that are unacceptable at this level. Such mistakes can lead to disaster. In the incident, Jacub Stolarczyk had little or no time to decide what to do. He ran towards the ball to try to get it. However, Harvey Vale (QPR), reached it first. Vale easily passed the ball into an open goal.
Leicester again making silly errors late on in a half. Without proper leadership in this team, these things will continue to happen. Again blaming Gary Rowett for his selection policy and not having a clear eye on these vital issues. 1-1 half time.
No changes done from start in the second half. Sadly that made it possible for QPR to find the weakest link in this Leicester team. There is no power in tackles and duels. Ben Nelson misunderstood a vital situation in the 50th minute, again a misunderstanding between him and Jacub Stolarczyk. This leading to an own goal.

This shambles did not lead to any changes being made, despite early yellow cards and fatal errors. Eight minutes later, Ronnie Edwards scored from a corner. Another vital duel was lost inside the penalty area. QPR were 3-1 up. It was a nightmare to witness. Leicester experienced a total crash.
Gary Rowett then makes changes, coming too late. He is not impressive in game management. Looks to be uncertain and does not have any special formula to settle anything. He brings on Harry Winks, Patson Daka, and Bobby De Cordova-Reid. Jeremy Monga was again overlooked totally in this first round of substitutions. These changes happened after 61 minutes. Divine Mukasa, Oliver Skipp and Jordan Ayew taken off. Then after 77 minutes, Gary Rowett decides to give minutes to Dujuan Richards and Ricardo Pereira. There is no real reason to overlook Jeremy Monga again.
Those changes leading to nothing as the game ebbed out with the same result. The fact Leicester took the lead and then goes on to lose this game 3-1, is a disaster. The home section in the stadium was more or less empty when the final whistle heard. Of course, one should ask a lot of questions before Leicester takes on Watford. This match is scheduled for Saturday, the 21st of March.
Gary Rowett looks to have mud up to his ankles. He surely has no idea how to resolve this correctly. He has just shuffled his squad around as others have done before him. The problem is that he has glasses on that are far from giving him the correct answers.
- Positives
- Jordan James scoring a wonderful goal after 14 minutes
- Negatives
- Gary Rowett not really playing his best team, leaving out Harry Winks again
- Divine Mukasa was not prepared and looked out of his depth and in no way looking comfortable
- Jordan Ayew again in the starting line up on behalf of Patson Daka or Jeremy Monga, not possible
- Leading 1-0 and ending up losing 3-1 at home, that is close to a straight sacking
- Ben Nelson again having a stinker, not really up to it when the heat is coming and a clear head is needed, he looks nervous and not in control of his act on the field
- Playing Hamza Choudhury instead of Ricardo Pereira, very strange
- Gary Rowett looks confused and with no idea of a pattern of play. Rotation and changes done that is far from acts you would normally see from a manager of good ideas and a clear view on football
- Overlooking and leaving Jeremy Monga on the bench, it’s total disastrous
- Again getting beaten by a team who has physique as their main weapon
