Stuttgart is paying a total of approximately €18 million to €20 million (including a previously paid ~€3.5m loan fee) to Leicester to make Bilal El Khannouss’s loan move permanent, according to reports in April 2026 and early May 2026. The purchase obligation was triggered after the 21-year-old Moroccan midfielder met specific appearance conditions in the 2025/2026 season.
Leicester has four players under contract who might participate in the World Cup. However, a potential transfer for Abdul Fatawu could impact this, as the fee obtained would be important for Leicester’s ability to sign new players.

Leicester scouts attended the play-off game between Rochdale and Boreham Wood to watch Abdul Abdulmalik, who scored and assisted in the 2-2 match. Rochdale won on penalties in the end. The 23-year-old former Millwall player has excelled in the National League this season. He has been with Boreham Wood since 2024. This season, playing 45 games, scoring 13 goals, and providing 7 assists. He could be seen as a direct replacement for Abdul Fatawu.
Tyrese Shade, currently playing for Burton Albion, is another attacker seen in the rumours list. The former Leicester academy player has been watched, but we believe this one, being a cold rumour at this point, so far from any decision made.
