Hannah Cain has been released. She played 22 league games this season, but had no luck, scoring zero. To see here leave is a bit sad. Potentially would have been a good player at the second level.
Chantelle Swaby and Rosella Ayana are two others on the released list. There are negotiations going on with Denny Draper, being offered a new deal. Olivia Clark and defender Celeste Boureille have agreed on new deals.
We hope and believe Rick Passmoor and his staff will continue. To again make a new shift of management looks far from the correct decision and part of this sacking culture that looks to be well implemented within the hiararchy at this football club.
Last season was a major setback. Sacking Amandine Miquel a few days before the season started was a strange act. She had managed to keep Leicester up and secured another season in the WSL. A number of changes in the playing staff did in real downgrade the quality. Injuries has also played it’s part this season.
“We’ve got to score goals, today we did everything at times but that.”

The solution in every single situation when points are not on board and goals aren’t scored, you blame the manager. The quality of the players are what counts and hopefully a good group can be set up and put together and shaped the best way possible to try to get a swift return to the WSL.
A last hope of survival at the highest level was trashed when Charlton became too strong in the penalty shoot-outs of this play-off game, seeing Leicester relegated to the second tier.
Leicester City Women has since 2020 been under the King Power umbrella. Before they had been ran as an independent club since their start in 2004. They played their first season in the WSL back in 2022/23, having spent the last four seasons in the top flight.
Rick Passmoor signed a contract to the summer of 2028 to lead the team after an impressive spell as Interim Manager during the opening stages of the 2025/26 Barclays Women’s Super League season, which did see the team take points from both Liverpool and Everton.
We all had hopes for a progression this season, but it was not good enough. We do hope for Rick Passmoor to stay and build on what has happened so far. To again try their luck with a new head and use the axe again on a manager might not be the ultimate plan for a football team to progress.
