Late yesterday evening, it seems that Harry Souttar will play for Leicester against Notts County in the season opener. Today, news indicates that Wrexham will fight Sheffield United and expected to match Leicester’s asking price of around £12 million.

Russell Martin has the correct approach in this type of situations. He does what he believe is correct and planning as of know, not overthinking the situations and start planning without a player he has to his disposal, so instead of planning for him to leave, he is doing the opposite, at this moment being available.

This is the same situation with Stephy Mavididi, Caleb Okoli, and Wout Faes, who are all expected to leave but remain at the club and available to Russell Martin at this point. Fans often believe rumors as truth, but that is just guessing, something a football manager must avoid.

There are still high-paid players at the club, but we hope Caleb Okoli stays. He is a crucial player to retain. But it’s odd that he was part of Italy’s national team a season or two ago, and now he’s getting ready for League One football.

Leicester is linked with several defenders, which you can find in our hot, cool and cold list. One possible addition is Harry’s brother John Souttar from Rangers, who is not included in their current team plans.

Last season, Leicester faced Sheffield Wednesday in the opener. Bilal El Khannouss, Kasey McAteer, and James Justin played, but were all sold in the following weeks of that summer transfer window.
