When selling a product, you need to value it correctly. So far no concrete talk has emerged regarding a new owner of this football club. There are interest, according to different outlets, but so far, nothing looks as a sale is on the horizon.
We have not seen any updates from the club itself regarding a sale, but just other parties reporting on a brochure being handed over to potential buyers, then a bit strange that it again goes straight in the hands of media people, instead of being held privatly.
Major news outlets including Sky Sports and BBC Sport have reported that King Power has put Leicester City up for sale. A number of other outlets, including Leicestershire Live broke the initial news that King Power engaged investment bank Citigroup to find buyers and market the club for over £200 million.
Again strange to see this being picked up as concrete valuation without any proof of anything rather than these different brochures coming into the hands of journalist vultures and other actors talking of a potential sale of the club.
Indian businessman Neil Lal is one that has gone public with the idea he would like to buy the club, but other than that no concrete talk about any other buyer or suiter.
There is also a deadline for potential buyers to show interest, again according to the sources mentioned, but so far the only confirmed news is that Neil Lal had not gone via the channels he was supposed to, but taken direct contact with the club, who at the club, no one knows. He felt it was difficult to get the data needed, to understand the situation at the club correctly.
To build a story on something the club itself has not gone public with, looks very strange. The fact that a potential buyer believe it is difficult to get answers, may have to do with his idea of not going through the channels he needs to, so this all looks again as very thing soup.
🚨Leicester City have officially been put up for sale by King Power, bringing an end to an era of ownership that delivered the club’s historic Premier League title. 🔵🦊

So from the day the news broke about a potential sale, bringing forward a date, know club officials has confirmed, makes it a totally strange affair and process, we do not really have any idea about is ongoing.
Journalist Ben Jacobs originally reported that September 14 is the deadline for prospective buyers to submit takeover offers for Leicester City. Again no concrete evidence or confirmation about anything, no information about this sale and different dates about anything.
There are no official talk and as we all heard, Russell Martin had no idea about what process this is and no one had talked about it when he signed his contract.
If you look at a process of a sale of a football club, this is far from what is usual. Looking at the process at Sheffield Wednesday, there were an open dialogue, giving views and updates regarding the progress.
The Owls was sold to the US consortium Arise Capital Partners led by David Storch on May 2, 2026, ending a turbulent period of administration managed by Begbies Traynor.
The brochure is out, so that must be evidence enough, but very strange to see this type of communication and not having an official public update about anything, also keeping the current first team manager Russell Martin totally in the shadows of this process. At least he says, he knows nothing.
