Strolling around on the web this morning, looking for updates from the game yesterday, Jack Hobbs, turns up in the news feed. A long time ago, back in the days when Leicester fought their way out of League One the first time, Hobbs was in the heart of defence. Hobbs (38) has moved to new environment, being appointed team manager of FCV Grace Dieu.
FCV Grace Dieu is a semi-professional football club located near Thringstone in Leicestershire. It is the club of FCV International Football Academy. They play their home games at Grace Dieu Manor.
FCV Grace Dieu was founded in 2023, initially playing in Division One of the Nottinghamshire Senior League. They were promoted to the league’s Premier division as runners up of the 2023-24 season, and then further promoted to Division One of the United Counties League after winning the Nottinghamshire Senior League’s 2024-25 season.
This is a new, up and coming football club, based on some very special and unique premises. The club was established to create a clear and professional environment where talented players from the academy can progress into senior football.
An interesting approach in football, happening in Leicestershire, with a former Leicester City player at the wheel.
