Leicester Confirm Two Major Changes In Staff and Player Squad

Leicester have confirmed Rick Passmoor as the permanent new head coach of the Leicester Women Team. Passmoor had earlier been in temporary charge after Amandine Miquel left just ten days before the start of the WSL season.

There has been a major change in player personal as the women team looks to improve from previous season and hopefully climb out of the bottom positions. Leicester are on 4 points so far, having West Ham and Liverpool behind them in the table.

Emily van Egmond Elevates Leicester Women’s Performance

The Leicester Women team must be said to have had a good start. Looking at the three results so far, you must say performances have improved from last season. There are some very interesting points to consider for that improvement to happen.

One special point and very important factor is the introduction of Emily van Edmond. The 32 year old midfielder joined from Birmingham and at 32 years of age she looks better than ever. She has a special background. It is very impressive. She has played 163 times for her country, Australia. She has scored 32 goals.

Her life in football has been very nomadic, starting out at Newcastle Jet. The same club Emile Heskey played for while in Australia. She has played for many clubs in England, Germany, and the USA. She started her career in 2008. Her list of honours are very impressive, being a league and cup winner in th different leagues.

WSL Kickoff: Leicester City Women Prepare for Man Utd with Fresh Faces

Leicester are up against Man Utd tomorrow in their WSL opener. In front of the game four new faces have arrived this week. Rosella Ayane is one of the new additons. She joins the club on a free transfer. The 29 year old forward with 35 caps and 11 goals for Morocco is a very exciting player. Previously been with Spurs, Everton, Bristol City, Reading and Chelsea. She has also played for Chicago Red Stars and Apollon Limassol.

Midfielder Olivia McLoughlin has joined Leicester from Rangers in Scotland. The England U23 international has previously played for Aston Villa and Birmingham. The 20 year old is another exciting addition. Leicester also this week added Cecily Wellesley-Smith from Arsenal on loan. The central defender recently signed a full professional contract with The Gunners, before moving to Leicester.

The last name on the arrival list and among this late in quartet is Emily Van Egmond. The 32 year old attacking midfielder is heavily experienced. She has joined on a two year deal. There is an optional one year add-on.
