One who shined in both colours was Stuart Campbell. Coming through at Leicester he was sold to Grimsby in 2001. He joined after a earlier loan spell. Campbell played 156 league games and scored 12 goals for The Mariners until 2004 when he moved to Bristol Rovers.

Not to forget Joe Waters. Waters played 13 league games for Leicester from 1971 to 1976, before making his switch to Grimsby for a fee of £10.000. He had previously been on loan and in total Waters made 356 league games, scoring 65 goals.

Andy Peake was another Leicester hero that made his switch to The Mariners. He played at Blundell Park for a season before moving to Charlton in 1986. Grimsby paid Leicester a six figure fee for his services. A total of 39 league games and 4 goals for The Mariners.

The former England U.20 international has played a total of 199 league games and scored 10 goals while at The Kassam.
