A new game in pre-season, this time away to Bristol Rovers. Leicester played a game of 120 minutes, with four halfs of 30 minutes. This is more of a training session than a match, but still of course it’s football, so to look at it and give views on it will be possible.

Russell Martin decided to change his set up from the Northampton game, first of all surprised to see Wout Faes being the captain, but indeed no problem with that, rather than it would be a major surprise if the Belgian international will be staying at Leicester this season.

Every summer, you get excited about the next season, wondering what team Leicester will have, who will leave or stay, and if there will be any new players.

Russell Martin made his picks, having both positives and negatives. There were two different teams put out in each half, having a great number of youngsters mixed with the experienced players available.

A new look starting eleven, showing a bit of boldness from Gary Rowett. A good set up giving Jeremy Monga and Louis Page starting positions as the two young talents made their mark from start.

Hamza Choudhury was also given a midfield role, bringing Ricardo Pereira back in the starting line-up. Abdul Fatawu was not part of the squad, being out with an injury. Stephy Mavididi also made the starting line-up.

We thought we had seen the last of Harry Winks, but not doubt from Gary Rowett, he has full belief in the player and played him from start, leaving out Oliver Skipp.
