Where are they now, former foxes in action around in football

Nice to see Neil Danns back in action as he joined Tranmere Rovers from demolished Bury FC. The 36 year old former fox came on in the 2nd half for his debut in the League One game today against Burton Albion, helping his team to a 2-1 home victory.

Former fox Jonny Heyes is at 32 probably playing his best football ever, being seen as a 2nd half sub for Celtic in their Europa League game v. Rennes on Thursday. As you can see on Football Addict, Heyes helped Celtic to a 1-1 draw. Heyes scored one of the goals in Celtic’s fine 2-0 away win at Ibrox v. Rangers earlier in the season.

Riyad Mahrez was playing all 90 minutes when Manchester City hammered Watford 8-0, Mahrez scored on of these after 12 minutes, and had an assist on the last goal scored by Kevin De Bruyne.

Former Leicester loanee Michael Keane had to see his Everton defeated 2-0 by Sheffield United, without Richard Stearman who looks out of the first team picture at Bramall Lane.

Norwich City came down to earth with a 2-0 defeat away to Burnley. Another former fox loanee Ben Mee played all 90 minutes, with Danny Drinkwater missing out with his ankle injury.

Paul Gallagher is still going strong and played 82 minutes when Preston North End defeated Birmingham City away, with a 1-0 win. Another former fox in their squad David Nugent did not appear. Former Leicester City loanee goalkeeper David Stockdale was an unused sub for The Blues.

Michael Morrison and Liam Moore both played from start in Reading’s home defeat against Blackburn Rovers. Greg Cunningham played the full game for an exciting Blackburn who looks stronger and stronger this season.

Anthony Knockaert helped his Fulham to a 1-1 away draw v. Sheffield Wednesday. Josh Knight on loan at Peterborough played in a midfield role as “Posh” got it difficult away to Doncaster Rovers.

Former Leicester assistant and caretaker manager Michael Appleton got a difficult start returning to management at Lincoln United, getting defeated 6-0 at home to Oxford United. Cian Bolger played in The Imps defense.

Oliver Norburn and his Shrewsbury were held to 0-0 against Rotherham who had Daniel Iversen in goal, keeping a clean sheet and with Joe Mattock on the left back. Richie Wellens and his Swindon Town defeated Cambridge United 1-0, with George Taft playing the full 90 for The U’s.

Kevin Ellison was an unused sub when his Morecambe was defeated 3-1 away to Oldham Athletic. Conrad Logan was in goal for Mansfield in their 2-2 away draw v. Port Vale. Andy King came on as a last minute sub for Rangers in their 1-0 Europa League win v. Feyenord. Andy King has been playing a number of games, but not yet made the starting line-up.

Rachid Ghezzal was an unused sub in Fiorentina’s strong 0-0 home draw against Juventus. Islam Slimani has started well on his loan spell at Monaco, scoring 3 in 3, he also netted the winner when Algeria defeated Benin 1-0 in their last international. Adrien Silva came on as a 2nd half sub in the 3-4 home defeat v. Marseille, Slimani played all 90 minutes but didn’t score in that one.

Fousseni Diabate made his debut for Amiens in their 2-2 draw v. Lyon. Alexandru Pascanu has not yet made his debut for CFR Cluj, but been in the squad in both Europe and domestic games. He did see his team defeat Lazio 2-1 at home. Pascanu played for Romania U.21 in their 2-1 away defeat v. Denmark.

Ron-Robert Zieler left Stuttgart this summer to rejoin Hannover 96. He has since returning played 7 games, and performed strongly in their last away game defeating Holsten Kiel 2-1. Zieler and Hannover is at present playing in the 2nd tier of the German Bundesliga.
