After a disastrous home defeat to Oxford, Leicester are back on the bus to play Stockport away. Their kick off their game at Edgeley Park at 15:00 on Saturday.
Stockport is a team who has had it’s ride between the tiers, playing in EFL Championship from from 1997 to 2002, last time playing Leicester in a league game was as far back as 1925. Played Stockport latest in a Carabao Cup fixture in 2022, winning on penalties. Stockport played in the fifth tier, coming back up to the EFL League 2 in 2022-23.
We are of course hoping for a change in fortunes and hopefully Conor Chaplin will be available. John Lundstram is said to be out of form and needs to build on his fitness. Both players are heavilly needed in this Leicester team. We also believe that Howell should be given a chance to start, also hoping Russell Martin will give Warren O’Hora his debut in the Leicester team.
There is a strange situation at the club, having quality players such as Woyo Coulibaly, Caleb Okoli and Wout Faes available, but in some strange way, waiting for all three to leave. They are good enough to be playing every game, but that would see Leicester change formation, playing a 3-5-2 or a 3-4-1-1, something we believe will not happen, before we have seen at least two more bad results.
We believe Stockport will not sit back and just defend, waiting for their opportunites, that will be Leicester’s possibilty as the game will hopefully be more open, Leicester not clever enough to use their possession advantage to anything usefull almost in every game this season. Leicester need to stretch their team more and have more players taking more risk, getting into the penalty area, but at this point it’s been difficult.

Formed in 1883 as Heaton Norris Rovers, they were renamed Stockport County in 1890 after the County Borough of Stockport.
