Why Leicester City should look to Norway for a special transfer approach

To be based in Scandinavia makes it possible to watch players that might be a bit of the radar of Premier League clubs, but often you see players from these leagues making moves to clubs a bit lower in the football pyramid and to other places in Europe or in England.

TCF recommended Jens Petter Hauge this summer, he was at the time with Norwegian champions Bodo Glimt, and a couple of months later made a move to Serie A and AC Milan. He has done well with the Italians and it’s great to see the player progress as much as he has done in company with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The level of Norwegian football is on rise with clubs steadily making it into the Europa League group stages with Rosenborg, Sarpsborg and Molde all been doing so in the past and this season Molde followed Arsenal from the group stages and into the finals of the tournament.

The change of Norwegian football a couple of years back reducing the third level to just two divisions has made more clubs professional and it’s been something that makes it easier to sign Norwegian players from a lower tier as they are better prepared and the pond of home grown players are broader at the moment.

You still have a great number of foreign players as well, mostly from other Nordic countries and this season two very special Danes have been in impressive form for the league winner Bodo Glimt. Philip Zinckernagel and Kasper Junker have both been very impressive. Both players are 26 years of age and a good career behind them in Danish football.

Junker is finding the net on regular basis and so far hit 27 goals in 25 games, he is a “find” and together with Zinckernagel two “special” players in this league. None of them have been capped by Denmark. Zinkernagel operates on the wing, and the two could have been perfect in a Leicester City squad.

Junker would be a perfect alternative for Vardy as a cover, and would score goals, no doubt about it, Zinckernagel is a steady performer, a great passer, has a great eye for a goal, can score from the penalty spot. Junker has been linked with Besiktas, but so far still at Bodo Glimt.

These two players would be up there and above the likes of Under, Iheanacho and Slimani, and could be fantastic additions if Leicester City decides to go for the two, alternatively both players wil leave Bodo and the prices will be below £5million for the two, so it’s a steal.

We will see these two players either in Germany, Holland or Italy, maybe in Turkey or another big league in Europe, so instead of waiting just click the button and get them in January.
