Agent confirm Leicester looks as one of two options as talks are on with Southampton regarding a new contract

Southampton flank man Moi Elyounoussi is in his last year of running contract. The club and player are still waiting for each other to find a solution with the player himself on international duty.

Moi is a regular alternative both for Norway and Southampton and his situation will not change if he stay or go. To be playing steady in Premier League is enough to ensure his place in the Norwegian set-up.

Currently at home in Norway on international duty waiting on the game tomorrow vs. Sweden, Moi’s agent has been talking to local newspaper SA.no as they confirm interest from Leicester.

We have seen Moi linked with Leicester before and long before he made his move to Southampton. His professional journey in football started at his home town club Sarpsborg under the management of former Leicester forward Brian Deane and his assistant Ian Burchnall also from Leicester. Birchnall was recently appointed manager of newly League One promoted Forest Green Rovers.

Moi is at his best playing offensively on the flank and not very much a defending type. He is very similar to James Maddison in that sence and difficult to see it possible to use those two on the field at the same time as you not see them at their best tackling and defend.

Leicester do have Harvey Barnes who is similar but a much better player than Moi Elyounoussi. So a transfer for the Norwegian international will be a risky affair for both parties as he would probably see himself in competition with two players that are cemented in the Leicester first team.

We all know that at his best Moi can really be a fantastic player but still at this point we do have doubts about such a move and seeing him linked again will not stop us from being worried about Norway and seeing another player being left on the bench as struggles continues for Ståle Solbakken to have all his best men game fit.

We do not see and hope this will be a move happening and that the player is true to himself and use his option to sign a new and continuing deal with his current club.
