Over the years a number of players has left Leicester without a view to become first team footballers. Calvin Bassey is one of them. His presence at Rangers has been massive and he could end up joining Ajax for a fee of ยฃ19million.

We all know the level of Premier Leauge football and of course SPL and Dutch Eresdivisie are not at that level but in all top clubs of these leagues do get pass English opponents in Europe and reach those finals so in all top clubs are competitive.

We do see a need of a change at Leicester regarding transfer policy and how to not let youngsters getting a chance and neglect the fact that players can evolve and progress.

Another strange happening this summer is the release of Jack Butterfill as he looks to be joining Barnsley. He has been a good player for the U.18’s but did not get a look in at U.23 level and released.

Callum Wright is another player that could see a possible future at the club together with George Hirst as the two are players that will not cost the club a penny and can be covers to use and given a chance if and when other players are absent.

Both have great potential but yet been given a proper chance to show as they at least need two seasons to play a fringe role and get those needed games and they could use it to their advantage instead of using ยฃ100million on players not in use.

To sign fringe and pay heavy fees is a deadly strategy as it will only see dissappointing fans, players and upset management not really getting what they paid for, a deal sircle of choices, please stop it and use your academy graduates as they progress and move forward.

Hopefully going forward more trust will be put into those young players as they also will be more motivated knowing that a path is possible into first team action.
