George Hirst and Lewis Brunt are both in the headlines this Tuesday. Brunt has signed a new deal keeping him at Leicester to 2025 and Hirst is chased by Blackpool and Blackburn as Pompey will get competition for his signature or possible loan move.
Lewis Brunt is also a player who could be given a chance to leave on loan as his presence in the U.21 set up might be a challenge too little.
Lewis Brunt made a few appearances in the first team last season and showed why Leicester are eager to keep him on, hopefully he will push for a place in the first team and become a regular figure in the squad, if not it would be a very strange act to keep him on.
George Hirst played the 20/21 season on loan at Rotherham in The Championship. Despite seeing his team being relegated, completed 31 league games and strangely did not score. Last season he was in great form a level lower with Pompey as they fought for promotion, but ended in a 10th position.
We will be surprised if George Hirst is at Leicester when this week is over, but the situation regarding Lewis Brunt could be one settling in the U.21’s and being available for first team action if needed.
