Youri Tielemans is well in place in Qatar as the World Cup comes closer. Belgium will play their opening game vs. Canada on Wednesday, as their last test vs. Egypt was an eye opener, losing 2-1. Tielemans played the 2nd half, which ended 1-1. Tomothy Castagne played 82 minutes, Wout Faes never entered the field.

This gave no answers really and seeing Tielemans as a sub in the last test before the World Cup, might be something to look at, but still we believe he will be in the starting line-up on Wednesday.

His situation at Leicester is still very unclear, but a good signal of course is that there are talks between the club and the players representatives. They know exactly what the club is eager to get settled. To see Youri Tielemans leave in January would be very strange, and as we all know the club is ready to make a number of moves on special targets and letting other players leave, this could trigger the correct buttons and finally see Tielemans signing his new contract.

Arsenal looks aggressive. Rumours about a possible bid is often seen in the papers. Liverpool is also mentioned, but do play a very different game than Leicester. Arsenal might consider him as a good squad player, but Youri Tielemans is no player that can be compared to Partey or Xhaka. He is more simular to Martin Ødegaard and in an Arsenal midfield of three, they need to change their game fully to use Tielemans, or move their captain out on a wing. To see Mikel Arteta changing his rythm and system as well as moveing his captain out of position would be very odd.

We all know how Tielemans struggled at Monaco and then got it all on track with Leicester. At the moment he is also enjoying being captain in the absence of Evans, Albrighton, Ndidi, Pereira or Vardy, who are a bit in and out, or not in the team at all. The two goals vs. West Ham and Wolves, shows what he is capable of, played in the correct frame..

Barcelona could be an option in the summer, but to see him cement a place at Nou Camp is hard to believe.

The two most likely happenings would be either a move to Arsenal or signing a new deal at Leicester. But in football you never know as changes has happened before.

We will wait and see if anything happens in the January transfer window, but TCF believe it will be a silent period for Youri Tielemans as life at Leicester continues, at least until the end of the season.
