Agents are at present looking at different options to bring their clients to a table of possibilities as new men shall be appointed in different manager positions.
So far no news from the club and the picture is still as blur as it was when Dean Smith finished the season with a 2-1 win against West Ham, but also failed in saving Leicester from the drop.
Steven Gerrard (43) has been on the list of people that has been circulated among different bookies. The former Liverpool great is also on a list of Leeds manager candidates.
Steven Gerrard as Dean Smith had to walk the plank at Aston Villa after a number of difficulties. The one taking over, Unai Emery, had to see his job lost at Arsenal but has worked wonders at Villa Park, so there are clearly no correct answers.
Steven Gerrard looks a definite “no” from Leicester fans, and would be a strange appointment if it happens. Graham Potter would probably be “too much” as this “fire sale” approach and salaries dropping 50%, would probably not give the former Brighton and Chelsea boss guaranties needed to step into this manager job.
Steven Gerrard would, if he is appointed, follow a few other Liverpool legends to take charge of Leicester. Tom Bromilow and Gordon Milne are two former men in charge of Leicester that had a glorious career as players with Liverpool. Bromilow took charge of Leicester in May 1939, and stayed loyal to the club through war-time. Later a scout at the club from 1950 to 1959. Gordon Milne became the manager to take charge after Jock Wallace left for Motherwell in 1982. Milne guided Leicester back to the top flight in 1983, and one to honour for the job done to form the Gary Lineker / Alan Smith partnership as well as bringing Gary McAllister to the club.
We beleive that Leicester will use more time to find the correct candidate. So far nothing looks settled and to see the name of Steven Gerrard in this mix looks odd. Dean Smith is still the top man, but strangely nothing said or heard regarding him lately.
