Enzo Maresca cannot decide which top striker to use on a regular basis, switching between Kelechi Iheanacho and Jamie Vardy from game to game. This cannot continue as we have earlier addressed the idea to play with both as they have the ability to adjust and one of them playing wide in this set up.
The January transfer window is coming closer, with both Vardy and Iheanacho out of contract in the summer, and with a return to Premier League it will be vital to get the best solution on board and that will probably not be possible to see before the promotion is in place.
Iheanacho, Vardy and Daka were all chased in the summer and could have had the opportunity to leave, but nothing happened and they are still at Leicester, but probably all three of them being frustrated and uncertain without a cemented place up front.
Leicester manager Enzo Maresca is suffering without a certain first choice up front, probably the most pivotal player in the team, and to alternate is no solution going forward. Also having Tom Cannon available at this point, it will be no surprise to see both Iheanacho and Daka leaving, keeping an option open for a loan deal of some sort for another player, or gamble on having just Vardy and Cannon to his disposal.
Daka and Iheanacho will also miss a great number of games during January and possibly into February, so to cash in would be the best solution, and easier to get Iheanacho out with his contract running until the summer. Daka have a contract running to 2026, with few clubs to able to pay him what he earns at Leicester, so hopefully some sort of solution will be found.
Enzo Maresco looks good so far, but has to decide on this crucial topic as he shapes his Leicester team in the best way possible.
