Leicester hit hurdle in transfer chase as Norwegian top tier sensation looks to be in picture with Juve midfielder also on radar

Leicester looks to have hit a hurdle regarding Yaser Asprilla. Watford and Rennes have accordingly agreed an inflated fee of €29.00m. The Columbian international is currently valued to €9.00m, so it looks a move Leicester should avoid big time.

This has again triggered other options for Leicester, but looking at the stats of Chelsea forward David Datro Fofana, Leicester should avoid to sign this player when having Tom Cannon and Patson Daka in the squad, both much better alternatives. Fofana is at present valued to €12.00m. Fofana has potential but his stats from his Burnley loan and in previous clubs, and far from being a first team alternative at Chelsea, should be a big warning sign.

Tom Cannon showed last season that he can be an alternative three, Jamie Vardy alternative one and Patson Daka alternative two, if not any of the strikers are seen as potential sales, at this point it would just be silly to loan out Tom Cannon. David Datro Fofana had success in his time at Norwegian club Molde, but since moving to Chelsea, he has not really found a way forward.

If clubs in Premier League are looking for talent in Norwegian football, they should be careful as the player might need a test in Holland, France, Spain, Belgium or Germany, before being pushed over the channel.

The demand and interest of Tom Cannon from Championship clubs should be enough to understand that the 21 year old is a much better player than David Datro Fofana.

The fact that Leicester do chase a midfielder should not in any way trigger a move for Arthur Melo. He is far from what Leicester need at the moment. He is seen as a defensive midfielder and that is one option Leicester should not try to strengthen, it looks a very strange rumour.

Looking at the recent linked players, we could just keep on working with what is present at the club, and not sign players to downsize the quality of the squad. Leicester manager Steve Cooper hopefully knows the level of the players he have at the club as we have seen terrible examples of downsizing a squad in the past, or paying inflated prices for alternatives that in no way has the capacity to win a place in the team.

Abdul Fatawu and Bobby De Cordova-Reid looks to be two good signings, Kaleb Okoli, of course a good player, but not needed with the cover you have in central defence, Michael Golding looks to be one for the future.
