30 year old Leicester born Ashvir Singh Johal was appointed manager of Morecambe FC on the 19th of August. Singh Johal has previously worked as a coach at Leicester, Wigan, Como and latest at Notts County.

He has been assistant to Koulo Toure and Cesc Fabregas. He has also said that Brendan Rodgers helped him at Leicester and had massive influence on his career so far.

Morecambe are currently at the very bottom of the National League table. They are far behind in games. Their season started late due to a difficult summer of financial disorder. At one point, they were not welcomed to play on after their relegation from League Two.

Ashvir Singh Johal has used his Leicester connections. He has relied on those previous relations. These helped him bring in five players with that type of background. The latest addition was Arjan Raikhy, arriving from Boston on loan. He just joined them after being released by Leicester in the summer.

Admiral Muskwe is another player to mention, coming in from Finland. He has a background from the Leicester academy. A full international with 7 caps for Zimbabwe. After leaving Leicester, he joined Luton. He was part of their push to the top flight. He played 22 games for The Hatters from 2021 to 2024. Muskwee scored two in the last league match, playing Solihull Moors. The game ended in a 4-4 draw.

Josh Eppiah, Alie Sesay, and Harry Panayiotou all have a past at Leicester. These players arrived at Morecambe to join Ashvir Singh Johal.

Harry Panayiotou has been around a bit since leaving Leicester with a 100% record. He scored one goal in one league appearance, against Leeds back in the 2011-12 season. He is a full international representing Saint Kitts and Nevis. He has played 39 times and scored 12 goals. A real journey man in lower leagues representing clubs such as Aldershot Town, Nuneaton Borough and Barrow among those clubs.

Josh Eppiah most recently played for Northampton. He has also played in Brazil and in Belgium with OH Leuven. He has in some way slipped from the higher level, but should have potential to be a good addition and to help Ashvir Singh Johal to climb the table.

Alie Sesay left Leicester back in 2016. He was at the club when they were crowned Premier League champions. He has since travelled the world to experience football on different continents. The experienced journey man is now 31 years of age. He has not played in England since leaving Barnet in 2017. He has played in Sweden, Greece, Indonesia, Azerbaijan and Hong Kong and a few other countries.

Will be interesting to follow Morecambe FC going forward, having all these Leicester connections and relations. For all players who used to play for Leicester City, we have an updated list to look up.
