The Fall of Marti Cifuentes, Talk After Boro’ And Press Conference vs. Norwich – Just A Lot Of Empty Phraces – TCF

Following the press-conference in front of the Norwich game, you start to wonder what this is all about. Marti Cifuentes is not talking tactical football at the moment. He is talking without pin pointing what is wrong, not really having that approach we would like to see.

All just empty phraces. The football his team is playing at the moment is far from what he has spoken about and we just don’t really know what to expect next. No plan, no pattern, just changes.

Marti Cifuentes made us all believe he would play attacking, possession orientated football, but he is at the moment not doing that. The team selections he makes is far from logic and not in line with his own philosophy. We do not know what he is up to at the moment.

The journalists in the panel are also asking few questions about football tactics, which is so very dissappointing. Again bad questions gets bad answers. This could possibly be rigged to avoid any problematic situations.

At the moment fans are frustrated because what we tought would be Marti’s style just looks a random pick of players and no system at all, just a player powered set up that in no way reflects a certain style.

Hopefully with what comes next, Leicester will be able to get a result away to Norwich at Carrow Road. We have no real expectations and the mess we are seeing at the moment must be sorted out quickly.

We have no idea how the team will look like vs. Norwich. We believe Asmir Begovic will be in goal. Jannik Vestergaard will start in defence. Harry Winks and Jordan James are starting, so will Abdul Fatawu be doing. The rest looks another random pick from Marti Cifuentes.

We believed Leicester would play with a four in the back, three midfielders, one defensive, one box to box and one offensive. Three men up front and the top forward stretching the defence. So if you like to do that you have an easy job to pick the team, no problem at all. The chopping and changing must stop as it makes this a buss on the road with no clear destination.

Up front if you play the style Marti Cifuentes is talking about, you cannot play Julian Carranza or Jordan Ayew as a top forward. You either choose Patson Daka, or go with Abdul Fatawu or Stephy Mavididi as that alternative. They have the pace to stretch.

Playing Carranza or Ayew you will play a different game, not suited for the formation and style Marti Cifuentes is talking about, so why is he picking those two in his set up. Ayew and Carranza can play in another set up, but then you have to balance your team out in a different way.

We would like to understand why his selections are the opposite of his tactical view and vision.
