Not a major fan of Kieran Maguire, but still interesting to listen to him. He was recently interviewed by Leicester fan channel BTG. TCF have a different view. Leicester are far from the disaster description. Still believing this will be storted out and turned around. Leicester are in a transition period. This situation is familiar to this football club in previous decades. Kieran Maguire is often used to bring certain headlines, but his talk is vague and far from conclusive. He is giving us insight in what is going on in general with PSR at PL and EFL.

To see him making assumptions about Leicester and player contracts, makes it difficult to take everything to account. We miss the insight to provide good and rational discussion regarding this football club’s current challenges. Listening to him was beneficial. His answers align with our thoughts in general on all these matters. But he lacks special knowledge about the Leicester affair. His responses do not provide the answers the interviewer seeks.

We have earlier suggested that what Leicester are doing at the moment follows PSR rules. Their actions align with FFP guidelines. How they prepare for their future looks good. However, it will be challenging to get quality players in. This situation goes down badly with a certain group of fans. They want quality players, no PSR and FFP problems and getting back their fairy story.

Kieran Maguire gives good and quality answers. He explains rationally that EFL and PL are not emotional. They make their verdicts and punishment based on rules and regulations. They are not going after certain clubs to get revenge from past defeats.

We have earlier explained the reason for Leicester being in the situation they are. We do believe there will be no points deductions, and if, Leicester will appeal. New changes in rules and regulations will have no impact on the past. but being judged on terms when this actually happened. We do also believe a punishment will not be a problem regarding their final league position.

Leicester took high risk and calculations to be part of the group chasing Champions League. This became a heavy challenge in the late days of Brendan Rodgers, seeing him fired. He faced difficulties managing new challenges. He struggled to negotiate new deals and to maintain a high profile in sales.

This is the key and the reason for all the difficulties. Later sorting out transfers and contracts became a heavy challenge, especially in the second relegation. Players had salaries mirroring a Champions League challenger.

Kieran Maguire throws cold water into the interviewers questioning. He speaks from a general point of view. As a Brighton fan, Maguire has no emotional feelings for Leicester.

Kieran Maguire says most of the same that we have published on this website earlier. He brings a balanced view on our fanbase. They are loyal, something we do see at away games, being present at Wrexham on Tuesday. I agree wholeheartedly with Kieran Maguire. These fans will remain even if we are relegated to League One. We have been down there before, and it was still major support.

He points out that the club will have parachute payments next season as well. He brings parallels to Luton and Sunderland. This comparison is a very good reflection.

We knew before listening to this interview that Kieran Maguire has no direct information regarding Leicester. He says he has no insight into a locked matter with no leaks to bring to the table. And if he had, he would not talk about them, to a Leicester fan podcast.

Kieran Magurie have insight and knowledge and follows football finance with a close eye. However, he cannot help with the answers certain fans are after. The issue with these types of talks is that they occur when things are not going well on the pitch. They will never be seen if you have a two win strike or more.

Nice to see that Leicester is not the hottest topic on the planet regarding PSR and FFP. This might just give us all hope for the future. As we all know, this shows that Leicester is not the special focus. It is reassuring to know that Leicester has no enemies pursuing it. No one has an emotional desire to break the club down. Instead, EFL and PL are to judge them on what they believe is the wrongdoing, if any.

Leicester are at the moment working hard to bring the club back in balance and also build a strong future. This cannot be done in a quick fix, with a lot of contracts on the table, not able to renegotiate.

We have said before Leicester is not the best place on earth. To get players to join, even at Premier League level, you need to pay more. This neighborhood has no value for a foreign footballer. He can find many other places to live. That is why the club sometimes struggles to lure talent to come here. However, money is a factor to get good players in.

Kieran Maguire made it perfectly clear as we also have said. Leicester is a club in need to sell one of their top assets every season. This is of course to fund new transfers. With the prices being paid for a good player and wages on top, you have no chance without selling. A player who has come out of the academy is the diamond. This brings you 100% profit with no cost in relation to his value. Every signing is the responsibility of the manager in charge. The DOF has no say in that. The manager tries to push a deal and finalize it in the best way possible. Some say it is the DOF’s decison, that is a lie. He can say no. He can say yes. However, he will never sign a player without the agreement of the first team manager.

Again, it was great to listen to. We got Maguire’s views and down-to-earth talk about Leicester as a club. He also discussed the fanbase and examined the matter with neutral eyes.

As said earlier, fans of this football club should concentrate on support. They should stay behind the team. It is a waste of time to search for past negativity and problems. Focusing on these past issues is not productive. But if you like to have your moaning and negative attitude, that is your own choice.
